40 Yard Dash Music Video

So I’m sure people are thinking I must be a mega NFL fan after making a song called “40 yard dash,” but I’m not some die hard obsessed football fan. I do enjoy the game though and I knew as soon as I made the song I was going to have a football themed music video.

I was a varsity cheerleader my freshman year of high school, my favorite school year ever, and the football game spirit is very nostalgic to me. I remember the bright lights, smell of hot dogs and pop corn, and the Friday night house parties after the game that we lived for. I also remember having haters in high school and it being a re occurring  theme in my life. Someone always hating on me for something. I know pretty much everyone can relate to me with that. We all have haters. All of us. There is always at least one person in life who just can’t stand us and tries to get in our way and bring us down. I want any people out there who feel like they have people against them to know they are not alone. I also want people who may have never had the bravery in them to stand up for themselves to feel inspired to finally do so when they hear this song.

In the video my girl Santia threw popcorn at the hater girl talking shit, played by my girl Victoria. I don’t want people to think I condone violence or think we should all go throwing popcorn on the people who talk shit on us lol. It was just meant to be a funny comedic scene in the music video about getting back at the mean girl who tried to bully me online and in even in person. It was just acting and all fun and games. In real life I believe killing people with kindness is always the way to go.

My dancers Corrie, Shay, Tiye, and J-Nicole absolutely killed it. My choreographer Meagan also killed it even working under such horribly sad circumstances in her life. She really is a warrior and such a great teacher, friend, and supporter. As a group of ladies we really killed it and I’m so proud of us.

My outfits I wore in the video were all picked and inspired by my mind. I didn’t hire any stylist for this video because I wanted to have all the fun doing it myself. My main football outfit was designed by The Blonds. My referee dance outfit and dancers outfits were designed by LA ROXX.

My piano outfit was a combo of a Versace top and dress pants by Celine, and my outfit in the Cadillac scene was from Dior.

We had a private nurse come to set the day of the video to do rapid covid tests and Everyone was cleared as negative before stepping foot on set.

It’s hard to film during these times with a lot of restrictions and limitations on locations, and rules for filming. I alway manage to work it out though, even during a pandemic.

I put a lot of creativity into this music and my director Damien Sandoval truly made my vision come fo life. I hope you all love the video as much as I do. Check it out below!
